11 Months!

Only one more month until the big ONE!! Thank goodness I finally picked out an invitation for his birthday! I seriously have a hard time making these kinds of decisions, so I am thrilled to have that out of the way and just get to the fun planning for Reed's big day!

Stats:
Weight: 22 lbs. (Hasn't changed since last month. I am assuming that this is just because he has been walking like crazy the entire month.)
Heights: 31 in.

At 11 Months:

  • Reed loves the water, pool, bathtub, wherever. He will take it wherever he can get it. He absolutely loves to get in the pool and splash around, but his extreme splashing skills come to life in the tub. He soaks the entire bathroom everytime.

  • He killed his first living thing. Not to worry, it was only a spider. I absolutely despise spiders so you can imagine how hard it was to pull the spider out of Reed's mouth. The bug man is coming next week!

  • He can catch a bouncy ball when we throw it to him. Just a few weeks ago when my Mom was here, she started throwing the ball to Reed while he was in his baby pool. Surprisingly, he would catch it! We have now started to throw smaller balls to him in hopes that he might start catching those. We're getting there!

  • Has cut all of his canine teeth and is working on his 1 year molars. Poor baby! These molars are worse than any of the ones that he has cut thus far and for good reason, they are bigger. He is constantly chewing on his fingers these days to try to get some relief.

  • He absolutely loves blueberries. He shoves them in his mouth as quickly as he can. It is hilarious to watch.

  • If you ask Reed where his nose is, he will pull up his shirt and show you his belly. Not sure why this is the first body part for him to identify, lol! Thankfully, he will point to his belly if you ask him where his belly is.

  • He has started to talk a little more. He will now say "bye bye" very clearly while waving. Too cute! He is still sporadic on the use of Mama but continues to say Dada.

  • Reed is very loving. He has started coming up to us and wrapping his arms around our necks and squeezing. So sweet!

  • He loves to open and close the french doors in our house. Thankfully, he has learned to keep his fingers out of the way.
  • 11 Months!

    Tadbit is fun!

    How about a kiss.....or a little bite!

    Happy baby!

    Sitting tall.

    Silly goose!

    Isn't this sweet?!?!?

    Cheesin'!

"I don't know what you're talking about....I didn't pull all of these books out."

YUM-O

I let Reed feed himself spaghetti the other night. It took him a while to figure out how to get a bite in his mouth, but once he figured it out he was shoveling it in.

Before.....

After.

He had spaghetti everywhere! Even inside the top of his diaper, lol!

I basically had to semi-bathe him before I could even pick him up to take him to the bath.

Moo!

After Reed's bath the other night, I opted for his adorable cow towel. Usually he is squirming and pulling to get the towel off as soon as I put it on him, but not this particular towel. He just got away from me and tried to stand up. I say try because he would always step on one end of the towel, which kept him from standing completely upright. I was laughing so hard at him that I was crying. He was of course laughing as well. He was too funny. He crawled around with the cow towel on for at least 10 or 15 minutes, never making a move to take it off. It was adorable!

Our little cow!

Grazing....

Checking out the spectators....

That's one scary bull! LOL!

Cheese!

And then we each put the towel on our heads and Reed thought it was hilarious.

And good to play peek-a-boo with.

Silly Daddy!

Splash Ground!

A week ago a friend invited Reed and I to go with her and her little boy to probably one of the best toddler ideas ever for summertime. It's a splash ground with lots of water sprayers and shower like things. The best thing about it is that there is no pool like area at this place, so you really don't have to stress about your kid falling in the pool by themselves. You only have to worry that you can keep track of your little one with the craziness of this place. I think we probably picked the busiest day to go, but Reed loved it! We will definitely be going back! And, admission is only $1. That's cheap entertainment.

Fun in the sun!

He's always trying to grab the camera!

Reed and his friend Brick, who is almost 4 months older than Reed.

Pooped little boys from playing so hard. Don't you love Reed's hair?!?!

4th of July!

Well, we have celebrated the last of the holidays that are Reed's firsts. For his last first 4th of July ever, we spent a day at the pool with Chris' family and then a day at the lake with my family. Reed got to see his first fireworks show in Summerville, which surprisingly didn't scare him at all. We were shocked! He has gotten much better with handling sudden loud noises. With Chris traveling out of town, Reed and I were able to go back to the lake for a few days during the week so that he could play in the water and with Mr. Dawson some more.

At the fireworks......I promise he did watch the fireworks. The flash was just too much of a distraction.

Showing Dawson his walking skills.

Dawson, such a cutie!

Teething is tough stuff. In the last week, Reed has cut a portion of a 1 year molar and one of his canine teeth.

Riding in Dawson's wagon. Surprisingly Reed didn't try to jump out too many times, lol!

The Sweetest Thing!

We have so many things in random places where they aren't normally while we try to settle into our new home. I looked up the other day to find this........

Reed was just flipping through our wedding album. I couldn't resist going to grab the camera as he looked at the pictures of me. How sweet is this!

This pic reminds me of our favorite thing said on our wedding day. Our cousin Marin said "Brooke, you look so pretty" in her soft and sweet voice.

A little bend won't hurt, lol!

Yes, I am the cutest thing ever!

Lunch Date!

Reed and I had an unusually busy week of playdates with friends last week. I haven't been very good at getting together with friends. : ( I decided that I might need to take advantage of the free time that I currently have since I am considering going back to work, at least part-time. So, if you are interested in getting together with Reed and I, just let me know.

This past Friday, we met up with my good friend Rachel and her precious little man Liam for lunch at Figo. Both Reed and Liam were such good boys while we ate and then chatted for almost 2 hours. We look forward to our next lunch date or playdate with them!

Two Cuties!

Liam didn't make a peep as Reed thoroughly inspected his face and head!

"Yes, that's my eye. I need that, thanks!"

Look at Liam, such a patient baby! I am sure he will be grabbing at Reed before we know it!

Not to worry, Liam got Reed back, lol! Notice Reed leaning away.

Busy Weekend!

I thought I should probably sit down and write about our busy weekend last weekend before we headed into another busy weekend. This was our first full weekend in a while where we were doing things that we actually wanted to do instead of things that we had to do.

On Friday, we took Reed to his first Atlanta Braves game. He took a nap on the way to the game around 7, so he was wide awake through the majority of the game and even stayed awake on the ride home. He, of course, went immediately to sleep once we got home. We actually went to the game with Chris' work, so it was nice to be able to go to a game and not have to pay for the seats! We had a great time passing Reed around to all of his colleagues and he didn't seem to mind it at all either.

On Saturday, we attended Leanne and Andy's wedding sans Reed and then headed to Summerville afterwards to pick him up. We ended up staying the night in Summerville, which didn't turn out to be such a bad thing because the three of us were able to play in the pool on Sunday morning with everyone.

We headed back early afternoon on Sunday because one of the Chris' colleagues, Keith and his fiance Denise had invited us over for burgers at their place. Our friends, The Broggis, were also there. They have three children, two of which are older than Reed, and he loves watching them run around.

Overall, it was a great weekend! A lot busier than normal but we enjoyed every minute of it. It just makes Monday a little harder, since Chris was on the go all weekend and never got a chance to relax. I guess that is hopefully what this weekend is for!!
