Everett

Everett Bruner, daughter of our dear friends Kelly and Bo and baby sister of Brick and Thatcher, went to heaven to be with The Lord on Friday.  I cannot imagine the pain our sweet friends are feeling.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate life without their precious baby girl.

Carson - 3 Months Old

Our sweet baby girl is 3 months old as of yesterday.  We waited so long for her and now she is growing up so fast.  Our 4 year old seems like a teenager compared to her though.  How does time go by so fast?  We are trying to soak in every moment we can with both of our precious kiddos.

Stats:
Weight: 13 lbs.
Height: 24 in.

2 Months Old!

Cannot get enough of this sweet girl!

At 2 Months:

  • Carson is still sleeping like a champ and we appreciate it!  She, however, is not a very good napper during the day.  She has honestly not taken a nap in her crib at all this past month.  Yikes!  She seems to only nap if we are running errands and she is in her car seat, or if she is being held. It might be time for a little bit of tough love, ha!
  • She still refuses a bottle or pacifier.  How am I ever going to be able to leave her for more than 2 hours?!?!
  • Carson adores her big brother.  If he talks to her, she smiles and cackles at him.  It is the cutest thing.
  • She doesn't like to be put down.  She screams until we reappear.  Can you say spoiled?
  • She loves the song "Down by the way, where the watermelons grow?"  It is very helpful when I cook dinner and she is screaming in her swing.
  • She loves, loves taking a bath.  She likes to push off her feet and splash her hands in the water.
  • Her little legs are getting stronger, as she is finally starting to stand up for us when we hold her up.
  • She went to her first workout class with me a few weeks ago.  She slept the entire time.  I was so proud of her.  She also went to the gym nursery for the first time yesterday, she finally hit the mark where I could bring her, woohoo!
  • I think her first rollover attempt is coming soon, she just needs to be willing to be put down more.  ; )
  • Her eyes appear to be slate blue right now.  Not sure if this means that they are heading toward blue or if they are going to be hazel like mine and Reed's.
  • She loves her Daddy.  Her face lights up when she sees him in the evenings.  I get this look when I come to get her out of bed in the morning.
  • She has really figured out her hands and everything that she can grab, clothes, toys, etc, goes straight to her mouth once she gets her hands on them.
  • She might be teething?  She is constantly gnawing on her hands.  Reed got his first teeth between 3 and 4 months, so she might do the same.
  • We are all crazy about her!

MOPs Family Picnic

I honestly didn't even take my camera to the MOPs family picnic this year, but thankfully there was a photographer there taking photos.  We got this great shot of our fam!

T-Ball

This is Reed's first year playing any kind of sport.  He loves being out there on the field, and he especially loves his uniform.  I think we are going to do soccer in the spring, so he can be a little more active during the game.  Four year old t-ball consists of everyone getting to bat, no one getting out and no one wins.  That is all well and good, although it can get a little boring, for him and for us, ha!  He loves chasing down the ball when someone hits it, so I am sure he will love chasing down the soccer ball.

A little practice on the field.
He does his best to see where he is running with the huge helmet.

Last minute tips from the coach.

Carson has slept through every game so far.

More Beach Pics

First time in the ocean!

Posing with their sand castle.
Reed loved jumping in the waves.
He could even manage them a little by himself.
Carson was so good on the beach.  She snoozed in the tent with her fan most of the time.
And what's a beach trip without a mini photo shoot?

Beach Trip 2013

We took our first family vacation as a family of four the week before last.  It was an awesome week, spent relaxing with our wonderful kiddos.  Carson started sleeping through the night on vacation, so that made it even more relaxing.  It was awesome to have a full week together with no other distractions.  I can't wait until our next trip.  I need to get to planning!

Reed loved playing in the ocean!
He did lots of this!
Just so happens that another family from Atlanta was also staying at the same place.  Reed and Leah were fast friends!  Too cute!

Putt-putt is absolute necessity for any beach trip.
And Chris did his best to play while also carrying Carson.  Before Carson and I had to head back to the car due to the humidity, Chris was still beating me playing this way.
Hanging out on a large duck outside a toy store.
Carson slept through most of our dinners out.
And Reed always got a little bit of Minion Rush time at meals.
This is the look I have been getting lately when asking him to smile.  Silly boy.

Once he started collecting shells, or pieces of shells, he couldn't stop.

To be continued......
