Disney Highlights

We had an awesome albeit exhausting trip to Disney last week. There were two moments of our 5 day trip that stick out as highlights for us. The first is when Reed first saw the Walt Disney World sign. He threw his hands in the air, you know, like Rocky once he reached the top of the steps, and said 'yeah'. It was precious!

The next completely adorable and shocking thing happened at the Festival of the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom.  We somehow got picked at the entrance of the park to sit front row at the show.  We were a little unsure to begin with, because Reed hadn't been the biggest fan of shows but we said what the heck and went with it.  He got called up to help prepare the audience for the entrance of the Lion King pals.  We were lions in our section.  Check him out.  We were so proud that he went out there and actually participated.  Sooooo unlike him.

San-ta, San-ta, Ho, Ho, Ho!

We saw Santa today at Baby Braithwaite in downtown Atlanta.  It is such a cute little store and I love that they do this appointment only Santa thing.  It makes for easier in and out.  Our appointment was at 4:30 and I made a bad decision to let Reed take a nap on the way.  We had to wake him up to go in.  Needless to say, it took lots of convincing to get him up there with Santa, and it wasn't without a tantrum or two.  In the end it turned out okay.

This is how it started.  Chris in Santa's sleigh with Reed and me being overly excited about Santa reading Reed's letter of what he wants for Christmas.

To this, with all of us smiling at the camera.

We finally got him to sit with Santa by himself, but he was a little unsure.
"I'm not going to smile.  I'm not going to smile."
This is probably the best one.  Too bad she cut into Santa's head.

Slacker

Yes, you can call me a slacker.  I deserve it.  I have been a total blog slacker lately.  I have been up to my eyeballs editing photos for my new venture and haven't had any time to focus on our personal blog. That will change shortly, I promise.  We are headed to Disney World, woot woot, on Saturday, so I am sure I will have plenty of adorable photos and videos to share of Reedie when we return!  Again, sorry for my absence, I'll be back (said in my best Terminator voice).

Our Little Family

We started a little tradition last year of spending a morning taking pictures of our family.  I take the photos of Reed, Reed and Chris, Chris takes the photos of me and Reed and then we set the timer and cross our fingers for the family shots (it might be time to get a wireless remote).  This year was a little more challenging as our silly little boy was bad about always looking down, but we did end up with some really cute shots!

Apple Picking

One weekend in October we made a trip to Blue Ridge to go to Mercier Orchards and pick apples.  We've been to the orchard before but only inside the store and never to actually pick our own apples.  It was so much fun!  We all loved it!  Mike Mike and Kath were camping in Blue Ridge that weekend, so they came to pick apples with us.  Afterwards, we headed into downtown Blue Ridge to grab a bite to eat.  It was crazy packed that weekend, but we all had a great time!  I love fall!  Have I mentioned that before?!?!

On our way to the hayride!
Taking a bite of Mike Mike's apple.

Helping Mike Mike gather the best apples.
And bagging them with Kath.

While in downtown Blue Ridge, the train was at the station and Reed was super excited to see it!

Happy Halloween!

We had such a fun Halloween!  Our little Buzz Lightyear was crazy about his costume, and he loved hamming it up for everyone.  We attended our neighborhood Halloween party with my Mom and grandmother Jo for yummy pizza and then all the kiddos went in different directions to trick or treat.  Reed didn't mind going up to each house and saying "trick or treat".  He only got a little scared when the big bad wolf was handing out candy at one of the homes.  He proceeded to talk about that for the rest of the night, lol.  After hitting up a few streets, we made our way home to pass out candy.  We also munched on candy, chocolate chip cookies and hot apple cider while watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".  Fun, fun night!!

Buzz Lightyear shooting his laser!

He never stopped cheesing during the group photo this year, which is a far cry from last year!
Poor kiddo!  Look how much he's grown!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Chris turned the big 33 yesterday!  I had planned to make one of his favorite dinners, which he requested, and then surprise him with his favorite old-fashioned chocolate cake.  I kept telling Reed that we were going to have a party for Daddy.  Well, yesterday morning Reed told me that Daddy needed to have a cow cake like him and a train jumpy like he had for his birthday.  He said "Daddy loves that!"  So adorable!  After his expectations were so high for Daddy's birthday party, I had to kick it up a notch.  So, I headed to Party City and picked up some party hats and streamers to decorate a little.  Reed loved it and was super excited for Daddy to see all we had done when he got home.  I think Chris was pretty surprised himself.  : )  We love you Babe!  Happy Birthday!!!

It doesn't look like much, but it is so yummy.

Happenings....

A few weekends ago MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) had a family picnic at a local park.  It was so fun to get all of the families together.  The kiddos played, we munched on yummy bbq, and Reed even got his face painted.

Waiting patiently for the slide.

Where's Reed?
"Here I am!"

Last week our niece and nephews were out of school for Fall Break.  On Thursday of last week, my mother in law invited us to come play putt-putt and go out to dinner with them.  I knew when putt-putt was mentioned that we couldn't pass that up, considering how much Reed loves playing it.  In addition to playing putt-putt, he also got to ride on his first go-cart.  I have to admit that I was a little nervous, but we did it and Reed had so much fun.

Reed watching Jakey-poo setup his shot.
Gavin either made a hole-in-one or just missed one.
Reed helping Karlie Ruthie keep score.
Griffin getting ready to hopefully make a hole-in-one.

Karlie won the race.  I think she lapped us twice.
Gavin, Griffin and Jake all jumbled up together.
