Carson - 9 Months!

Carson Blaire was 9 months old on Wednesday.  I have started to think about her big 1 year birthday party but I have only gotten as far as to think that there will be lots of pink.  : )

Stats:
Height: 28 in. (75th percentile)
Weight: 17 lbs. 6 oz. (25th percentile)

At 9 Months:

  • She is constantly pulling up. Her favorite thing to climb on is Reed's chair. We have to be close though, because she is not very aware of how far she is off the ground.
  • She loves to chase her brother around the house. Of course, Reed runs 90 mph and can never be caught.
  • She loves to move to any music that she hears. It is adorable. She definitely shares our love of music.
  • She rolls her little hands and feet around if she is uncomfortable and wants to be picked up or if she is excited.
  • She had her first ear infection this month and potentially her first stomach bug. It wasn't just any ear infection, it was a double ear infection, which got worse and we had to change her antibiotic.
  • She didn't gain any weight this month and potentially lost weight. This is probably due to her being sick and being on antibiotics for half of the month. Poor girl. She also started crawling right at 8 months, so that probably has something to do with her weight. She is growing tall just fine.
  • She is a pretty good eater, but it has been hard to transition her to table foods. She either gets chocked or refuses to eat it. Ugh. This probably won't help with the weight gain issue. She does like Ritz crackers.  Not the healthiest of options, but she will eat them.  She also likes to eat bananas, she doesn't want it cut up, she just wants to take a bite.
  • Her iron was just under the low point where they recommend vitamins with iron (which are the most disgusting vitamins ever). Her pediatrician didn't seem concerned and said that it might have something to do with her being breastfed for so long.
  • Speaking of nursing, we ripped the bandaid off when I was in San Antonio for 3 nights last month, and we haven't looked back. I know those few days were bad for Chris, but I so appreciated it. Carson has took to the bottle/cup so well. We are so proud of her. She can even hold her own cup, which comes in handy when we are on the go and need her to take her bottle in the car.
  • On the other hand, she has not mastered the squeeze fruit/veggie pouches in the car.  That was a bit of a disaster when I tried.
  • She likes to crawl around carrying toys in her mouth like a dog. Funny girl!
  • The most excited that I see her everyday is when Chris walks through the door. It is the cutest thing to see her face light up. She giggles and crawls right to him.
  • She loves taking a bath. She pulls up on the bathtub and just bounces up and down in anticipation.
  • She laughs at herself and at random things.
  • She is a feisty little one. Sometimes she screams and acts like a crazy person if her brother even comes near her. If he does something she doesn't like, she lunges towards him and tries to bite him. Yikes. She also doesn't like to be told no. Uh oh!
  • She shakes her head no. I am not sure if she is just trying to avoid something or if she actually knows what that means.
  • It was incredibly hard to get girlfriend to stay still this month.  She just wanted to crawl right off the couch. Thankfully Chris was around to help, otherwise the pictures would have been even fewer.

This was the best one I got of her on her 9 month birthday.  I stopped after a few minutes of her wanting to jump off the couch.
Her brother couldn't even keep her still. Ha!

Zoo!

Our only spring break adventure was a trip to the zoo, and it was CROWDED!  Apparently, the schools not on spring break decided to take a field trip to the zoo during spring break.  That really shouldn't be allowed!  Regardless, we had a great time!

Carson rode a carousel for the first time at the zoo.  She piggybacked on the warthog with her brother.  So sweet!

A little drive thru help!

I went through the drive thru at Chick fil a the other day, certainly not abnormal for us, but this time it was a different CFA and I accidentally went through the drive thru with passenger pay.  I asked Reed to help me out, ha!  He said he didn't know what to do, but I told him that I would help.  He thought it was hilarious.
