Egg Hunt Overload

Reed has already attended three egg hunts, one with our neighborhood, one at school and one with my moms' group.  I am sure he still has at least one egg hunt to go.  He is becoming quite a pro at these hunts and gets just as excited every time as he did at his first hunt.  He's the cutest!!

Excuse the boo-boo on his elbow, poor kid is unlucky on concrete.

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

The three of us attended Reed's first of many Easter egg hunts this year.  It was so fun to watch him search for the eggs in one neighbor's yard.  He was stuck in the group with the 2 and unders, which meant that the eggs were basically screaming his name.  He didn't have a hard time filling his basket during this hunt.  He loved finding the eggs and also loved breaking them open to discover what was inside.  CANDY!  He had a few pieces at 10:30 in the morning and he couldn't have been more happy.

Reed with the other PWMC kiddos.  This is a far cry from his reaction to the group pic at Halloween.

"I found one, guys!"

"There's one right here."

"Don't you see it?"

Reed and his basket full of eggs.  Yay Reed!

Reed says the darndest things!

Although I am sure I have put some Reedisms on the blog before, it is probably time to start a regular post based on the things that he says.  He comes up with some hilarious things these days.

The below is probably the most awesome thing he has said to date, followed by a few other things that have us cracking up on a regular basis.  The story behind the video below is that Reed has started to ask more frequently during the day where Daddy is.  He usually says "Daddy leave me", which is sometimes followed by "he not love me".  Oh my goodness, how sad is that?  Poor little guy.  To remedy this, because we all know his Daddy loves him like CRAZY, I told him that Daddy goes to work to make money so that we can have a house and buy things, like toys.  Somehow, he came up with the idea that his Daddy makes toys at work.  Chris added that he was actually a toy maker, ha!  Check it out.

Reed:  Daddy, I need some money.
Chris:  How much do you need?
Reed:  Five monies.
Chris:  Will five dollars work?
Reed:  Yes.  (Puts the $5 in his pocket.)

Me:  Reed, is Woody your favorite?
Reed:  Yes, I love him.

After telling him 'good shot' while hitting golf balls, he says "thank you Mommy.  I like your hair."

While listening in on a conversation between Chris and I, which he obviously wasn't paying much attention to, he said "what did you just say Mommy?"  Just doesn't seem like something a 2 1/2 year old should be saying.

Becuzby = Because
Me:  Reed, why did you cry on the slide?
Reed:  Becuzby.

We were at the park today and I was pushing Reed on the swing.  He said, "go sit over there on the bench and watch me".  Yes, that's the easy way to do it kid, lol!

Lunch with Jessica and Matteson

Reed and I met up with my good friend Jessica and her adorable little girl Matteson for lunch yesterday.  Reed wasted no time holding hands with Matteson.  It was so cute to see the two of them together.  And it was super great to catch up with Jess.  We definitely have to make this a more regular thing!

Let's hold hands, Matteson.

I probably shouldn't.  My dad might not like it.

Okay, just this once, I'll make an exception.

Park Time!

Warmer weather is upon us and that means the beginning of what I am sure will be many trips to the park this spring and summer.  Reed loves, loves the park.  He literally spent 20 minutes on a swing.  It's his favorite.

Even if you hold your mouth like this you still aren't guaranteed to not slide back down the slide you are climbing up.

Just a swingin'.

Fun on the tractor!

Our little Reedie, as he calls himself, loves anything that goes.  He has been begging for a while now to ride on the tractor parked under the shed at Jo and PawPaw's house.  My dad got it up and running a few weeks ago and gave Reed a ride.  He was so giddy with excitement when my dad told him that he was going to get to ride.  He literally could not wipe the excitement off his face.  So precious!

This is his I'm-so-excited-I-can't-smile face!

Watching every move of Granddaddy's.
Love this one!

"Look at me!"

An oldie but goodie.

Circus!

I had mentioned taking Reed to the circus to Chris a few months ago when I heard it was going to be in town, but I never actually purchased tickets.  Well, two weeks ago the circus was in town and I made the snap decision that we should go on a Friday night.  And we bought tickets on Friday afternoon.  We ended up having to buy the tickets at Publix because they were no longer for sale online.  I highly recommend this route if you are looking to buy last minute tickets for non-sold out shows.  The lady gave us every discount imaginable.  It was awesome!

Reed was super pumped about going to the circus, but he wasn't so sure about it when the lights went down and it got really loud.  He promptly requested to go home.  Thankfully we got him to stay and he enjoyed it.  I remembered how much I actually hate the circus though.  I am a little bit of a nervous person and watching people walk a tight rope, walk on top of moving cages, and stay in a fence with 14 lions alone does not help my nervousness.  Overall, I think Reed enjoyed the show, but I don't think it will be something he will be begging to do again anytime soon.

He was so excited on the way in!

But not so sure after it started.   (Please excuse the odd face I am making.)

I was probably most excited about the food options at the circus.  Even though Reed had eaten cotton candy before, he refused to take a bite to begin with.  After he did take a bite, we couldn't get him to stop, lol!

Imagine if this were your day/night job?!?

Or this?  Craziness.

Reed's favorite thing had to be the clowns, but the elephants came in a close second.  He did keep asking where Dumbo was though, ha!
