Carson: 2 Months Old

Wow, 2 months already!  Time, please slow down.  As I looked through pictures to post last week of Carson's first few weeks, it was hard to remember her even being that small.  She has grown so quickly into a chubby little girl that melts our hearts with every smile and giggle.  We all love her so!

2 Month Stats:
Weight: 11lbs. 13oz (50th percentile)
Height: 23 1/2 in. (50th percentile)

At 2 Months:
  • She is a rockstar at holding her head up. This is mainly due to me holding her on my chest. I honestly have a hard time putting her down, which might have something to do with her crying when we put her down for second and walk away.
  • She is now sleeping like a champ. Before swaddling her, we were lucky to get 6 straight hours of sleep, which I am certainly not complaining about, but the 9.5 to 10 she got last night is much better.
  • She is really such a great baby. I worried that since Reed was such a good baby, we would get a not-so-good cry-all-the-time baby with her. We have gotten lucky again, it seems. She only cries if she is hungry, sleepy, has a wet diaper or wants to be picked up. That seems like a lot of crying time but it really isn't, it is all short-lived, thank goodness. Once we give her what she wants she is back to her happy self again.  There isn't much better than going into her room first thing in the morning and being greeted by her smiley face.
  • She is wearing 3 months or 0-3 months clothes, which she will probably be moving out of soon because she is so long.  And it might have something to do with her chunkiness as well, lol!
  • She is still wearing size 1 diapers, but we have put a size 2 on her a few times.
  • This is her current schedule.
    • Wake up between 6-7 and eat (we have skipped this the last few days!), go back down until 8 or 9.
    • Eat around 8:30 and then leave to take big brother to school around 9.
    • Nap from 9:30 until 11:30.
    • Eat at 11:30.
    • Pick up big brother from school at 12:30.
    • Nap from 12:30-2:30.
    • Eat at 2:30-3.
    • From 3-5, hangout with big brother and mommy.  There might be a catnap in there somewhere.
    • Eat at 5.
    • More playtime.
    • Bath at 8.
    • Eat at 8:30.
    • Down for the night at 9.  Woohoo!
  • Carson still LOVES her Daddy.  She never ceases to smile when she hears his voice or sees his face.  Daddy's girl already!
  • Carson discovered her feet in the car the other day.  She was mesmerized as she moved her feet and toes.  Too cute!
  • She is not rolling over yet, but she is doing very well at holding her head up.  It looks like Reed was rolling over at this point.  Carson, it's time to start spending more time on your belly.
  • Carson is a talker this days.  She coos and goos at us and her toys.  It is the cutest thing.  I'll post of video of her chatting with herself at the doctor yesterday tomorrow.
  • She received two shots on Monday at the doctor and was a little fussier than normal, but she seems back to herself today.
2 Months Old!
Is anyone else as annoyed as I am about how dark this navy blue chair is making these pictures?!?  Note to self, navy blue chair in the nursery is oh-so-good but a terrible idea for picture taking.  Ugh.  Have to figure out something new for next month.

She spent most of the time tilting from side to side.  Thankfully Daddy was home to help out.
And so was Reed!

Rewind: Carson's First Weeks I

Whoa, have I been a bad blogging mommy?!?!  I guess I have just been spending a lot of my time adjusting to being a mommy of two and also getting in plenty of snuggle time with my two favorite kiddos.  It has been such a great two months of having Carson in our lives (2 month post to come soon)!

First Day of School!

Reed started school in the 4's class on August 12th.  He was so excited to be in a new class with new friends and new teachers.  It has been a great year so far in his new class.  It is so exciting to see him growing and learning at school.  This year, the teachers are much more strict and more focused on getting the kiddos ready for kindergarten.....even though Reed won't be one of the ones headed to big school next year, thank goodness!!

Bubbles!

Reed loved playing with the bubble gun that his Great-Grandmother Jo got him for his birthday!  It's too bad that he literally held the trigger until all the bubble ran out, lol!  I guess we need to buy stock in bubbles!

Happy 4th Birthday Reed!!

We hosted Reed's 4th birthday party at our house this year.  Reed wanted a Buzz Lightyear party, so we got a Toy Story jumpy and a Buzz Lightyear cake.  He and all the kiddos had fun running around our backyard.  Other than a small tantrum, okay a large tantrum, it was a great party.  Happy Birthday to you Reed!  Can't believe you are 4!  Love you kiddo!

Our family hung around to see all the awesome gifts that Reed got for his birthday.  He is so lucky to have so many friends and family who love him so!

For Reed's actual birthday, I got up and made him blueberry muffins.  We lit some candles and sang Happy Birthday to him.  Then he opened his presents from us.  His favorite gifts were probably his Buzz Lightyear pj's and the laser pointers that were attached to the outside of one of his gifts.  He had school that day, so I made Spiderman cupcakes for him to share with his class.  Chris, Carson and I all rolled into his classroom toward the end of his school day for Chris to be the mystery reader.  Reed was super excited to see us!  After school, we had lunch at home and then we all headed to the movie theater to see Planes.  It was a great birthday for our little guy!

Sweet boy!
Daddy got to be mystery reader at Reed's school on his birthday.  Reed was so excited!
