At 20 Months:
- Girlfriend is super opinionated. She only wants to do what she wants to do. Getting in the car these days really has to be her idea or she stiffens up so that we can't strap her in. It makes running errands a little difficult and doubles the time is takes to get to our next stop. Dear.
- She says "yes" and "no" so very well but earlier this month she started saying "uh huh" and "uh uh" instead. I think this has passed, thank goodness.
- "Dare you go, Mommy." Also known as "here you go, Mommy".
- "Diss it" equals "kiss it". She says this after getting a boo boo, which thankfully usually makes the crying stop and the boo boo stop hurting.
- She loves to say "oh no, Mommy".
- Her brother has taught her the lovely name "poopy head". She calls anyone that who is sitting on the potty, and she has started calling me that at random times. Awesome.
- "I sorry, Weed." Sometimes Carson hurts Reed, which doesn't happen as many times as him hurting her yet although she is trying to catch up. She is quick to apologize, though.
- When Reed got into trouble yesterday afternoon, she said "Weed, trouble" and then walked over to him and said "hug". Sweet girl!
- Chris burped the other day and Carson said "'scuse me". After I sneezed, she said "bess you".
- She is a little talker. I honestly don't remember what her first sentence was, but she is all kinds of talkative now. She said "boo boo all better" recently.
- She has started refusing to sit in her booster seat at the table. She wants to sit in the "big chair, Mommy, big chair".
- Last night she had three guys at the table with her. After she got up, she picked each one up and said "'mone Elmo, 'mone monkey, 'mone Kitty".
- I am pretty sure her longest word so far is "opp-o-sites".
- She has a pouty face like nothing I have ever seen. She is so good at sticking her bottom lip out and looking so pitiful.
- Even though she loves to read books, she has started refusing to let me give her options for books to read at night and then her picking one. She absolutely never picks one of the books I recommend. She wants to get down and pick herself. This usually leads to her pulling all books off the shelf and then still not picking a book. I am pretty sure this is an I-don't-want-to-go-to-bed stall tactic.
- Bedtime has gotten a good bit easier. Usually, after the book fight, she request to just be put in her bed. She plays for a bit with her lovies and then falls asleep. Sweet girl.
- I am pretty sure her two year molars are starting to work their way in. She constantly has her fingers in her mouth.
- She is a pro at taking her shoes and socks off and also putting them back on. This is a regular occurrence while in the car. I am proud that she now usually at least has her socks back on by the time we reach our destination.
