Weather.com currently says that it is -3 degrees in Cambridge, MA and it feels like -17 degrees. Whoa, now that is cold! In all actuality I thought I would be freezing to death the instant we walked outside this morning, but it wasn’t THAT bad. I mean, it was bad, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t unbearable. This is probably the coldest weather that Chris and I have seen since we have lived in Massachusetts and we hope it will be the last time we see it this cold. Especially since it isn’t snowing. What’s the point of cold if it doesn’t snow? Maybe it’s too cold to snow today??
The coldness was not a shock to my body, but I was shocked by two people I saw out for their morning jog while driving to work this morning. Seriously, they couldn’t take a day off from running due to the extremely cold weather? These guys had on what I would wear running if it was 40 degrees. I don’t run, lol, but hypothetically speaking I would have worn a parka to run this morning. That is, if I ran. I just hope they didn’t get frost bite!
It looks like it isn’t too much warmer in our hometown of Summerville, GA, 12 degrees and feels like 1 degree. I know you all aren’t used to or prepared for this kind of weather, so I hope everyone bundled up this morning!

The snow almost kept us from going skiing!
This past Thursday Chris and I decided to make the three hour drive to Killington, VT to go skiing. We knew that the skiing would be good on Thursday because the forecast said that Killington was going to get around 8 inches of snow on Wednesday night and Thursday. Well, what we encountered as we neared Killington was not what we expected. The picture below says it all.
Yes, that is A LOT of snow and yes, we drove our NOT 4-wheel drive car in this. In addition to the fun of just staying on the road, there just so happened to be an exciting little hill at the start of Killington Road that we almost didn't make it up. If the scraper hadn't come up the hill shortly after we started up, we were going to have to head home. : ( Needless to say, Chris was not happy. Driving in the snow was extremely stressful for him. After nearly 3 and 1/2 hours in the car, we finally arrived at the mountain, rented our skis and headed up to the top to start skiing.
The mountain was absolutely perfect for skiing. I am not the best skier but the fresh powder on the mountain made me a little more confident than I would have been otherwise. It was a great day on the mountain! Unfortunately, we didn't get to ski on Friday because the temperature was going to feel like -13 degrees, and that isn't something we wanted to feel so we headed home. Below is the only picture of Chris and I that I took at the start of Easy Street, my favorite run at Killington.
Yes, it snowed on us all day.
So pretty at the top!
One small portion of the mountain on Friday morning. Can't wait to go back!
